A vape starter we define as kits includes vape pen style kits and AIO (all in one) vape kits that are ready to go straight out the box, and generally more user friendly and easier to use than box or mod style vape devices. All vape kits available in Australia, whether they are vape starter pens or more advanced vape mods, comprise 3 main components:
A vape starter kit will generally include a built-in or internal rechargeable battery which can be charged via the USB cable supplied with the kit. Some starter kits will feature "vape while you charge" technology which will allow you to vape while it is charging. The tank stores the vape juice until it is vaporised by the coil. When you press the button to vape, the battery supplies voltage, or power to the device and the coil heats up rapidly and vaporises the vape juice into vapour. This vapour is what is commonly referred to as "vape clouds".
Most smokers switching from smoking cigarettes to vaping prefer vape starter pens as they are lighter and shaped more like a cigarette, to allow them to replicate the hand to mouth action associated with smoking. In addition, vape pens are Mouth to Lung (MTL) vape devices. This means when you draw on your vape device you first inhale the vapour into your mouth and then into your lungs. This is very different to the Direct to Lung (DTL) vape mods where you inhale the vapour directly from your mod kit into your lungs.
The Innokin T18 starter kit is a popular vape starter kit with an internal battery of 1000mAh and power output of 14 watts. This vape pen ranks highly among other vaping products as it is reliable, ready to use, and delivers a generous amount of vapour.
We would not usually include mod kits with our vape pen starter products, but the Innokin T22 vape kit is worth a mention. Innokin T22 has a 2000mAh internal battery with a power output of 14 watts. Like its smaller version, the Innokin T18, it is also really easy to operate straight out of the box. Checkout our custom vape comparison tables, then add to cart and Vape Store will handle the rest.
How much is a vape starter kit?
Vape starter kits typically range from $25 to $60. The Vaporesso Sky Solo 1400mAh is sold on Vape Store for $25.95 and will deliver a great vaping experience. As you increase your budget, vape starter pens will generally offer a larger battery, deliver more power output, and sometimes feature a larger tank capacity. Along with the Innokin T22 kit, the Innokin EZ.Watt starter kit is another great option on Vape Store at $49.95, adjustable up to 35 watts power output. What makes this starter kit unique, is its simplicity. By simply pressing a button you can switch between 3 power modes to get the perfect vaping experience.

What's a good starter vape kit?
A good starter kit is one that fulfils your needs. Some vape starter kits may have a larger battery capacity and power output, but will be a little larger and heavier than other vape pens. If you are new to vaping and want a similar experience to smoking, a larger or heavier vape pen or even mod kit will not be ideal for you. The Innokin T20S kit is a good starter kits because it's easy to use, has a good battery capacity of 1500mAh, and its maximum power output is 18 watts. Innokin T20S is classified as a vape starter pen, as opposed to a vape mod, which is more a box or square shape. Starter kits including battery, tank, coil, charge cable and often a spare coil, are ideal for beginners because they contain everything you need straight out of the box to begin your new vaping experience.
The only other vaping product that you will need is your E-liquid. Vape Store offer a range of 10ml vape juice that is well priced at $5 so that you can try a few different flavours to see what you like best. Vape Store's Tobacco eLiquid juice is really popular among ex-smokers, whereas our Caramel Latte eJuice is a great dessert style eLiquid.
What's the best starter vape kit?
The team at Vape Store have thoroughly tested a number of vape starter pens and vape mods. What's the best starter vape kit? Well, as can be expected, we all had varying opinions, and the reason is very simple. Not all vapers are looking for the same feature or features from their vape kits. For some vapers in Australia, a large tank capacity may be a priority, especially if you are on the go all day and it is not convenient to re-fill your tank. For those vapers, choosing the Vaporesso Cascade One Plus Kit may be the best vape kit for them, as it has a large 5ml tank capacity and features an easy fill tank mechanism.
Other Australian vapers may prioritise battery life as they are on the go and it may not be convenient to recharge their vape kit. The Vaporesso Cascade One Plus Kit has a fairly large internal battery capacity of 3000mAh, with a power output of 85 watts which is pretty good for a vape pen. In comparison, the Innokin T20S Kit has a smaller 1500mah battery capacity and a power output of 18 watts.
Vape pens vs vape mods
When comparing vapour products, it's important to compare similar sorts of vape kits. Comparing a vape starter pen to a vape mod kit like the Vaporesso Revenger x, would not make much sense as they are completely different vaping products with different features. Even though the Vaporesso Cascade One Plus is significantly more powerful than the Innokin T20S Kit, vapor output and battery life is a little better on the Cascade One, but T20S is not far behind. All in all, Vaporesso Cascade One Plus offers an impressive battery life for the power and amount of vapour it produces.
Vape Store has considered features like, battery capacity, battery life, tank capacity, power output, vapour production and ease of use. We rate the following vape starter pens as "great starter kits":
Innokin T18 Kit
Innokin T20S kit
Vaporesso Cascade One Plus Kit
If we had to nominate one vape starter pen, the Cascade One Plus is just above the rest and primarily due to the awesome 85 watts of power output.
Vape mods or vape mods kits were also compared by the Vape Store crew. Innokin TC100 Kit, with an internal battery of 3300mAh and 100 watt power output is a great vape mod kit. TC100 feels solid, it's easy to use and vaper production and power output is excellent. In comparison, Vaporesso Revenger X Kit, requires 2 external 18650 batteries and when using Samsung 25R batteries, produces an impressive 220 watts of power with a battery capacity of 5000mAh. Vape Store has trialled many vaping products over the years from vape pens to vape mods and a range of E-Liquids.
We have compared a range of vape mods from the simpler and cheaper Innokin Coolfire Mini to the more upmarket Vaporesso Revenger X Kit, we felt that the simplicity of the Innokin TC100, combined with its solid feel and excellent vape output, made it difficult to beat. Of all the vape mods we tested; Vape Store unanimously agreed on the TC100 as the winner in the vape mod category.
